Karlinton's passion for agriculture started at his family coffee plantation in Honduras when he was young. Having traveled the world, he saw the importance of agriculture in surviving poverished nations. In countries with more economic resources, he found out that people did not know where their food came from. This droves him to study Agronomy at Escuela Zamorano University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree. His fascination for animal nutrition and poultry took him to North Carolina State University where he completed his Master's and finished his two Ph.D.
Creating Red Rooster
From his time in school, he saw the untapped value of machine learning. With this tool, he could use as many variables as he could measure. That is when it clicked for him. Food production depends on thousands of variables to be successful. Through the use of his experience and machine learning he could help those people that were dependent on agriculture . He was able to see the potential of increasing efficiency for producers and to identify and test the value of feed ingredients, additives, and supplements.
Red Rooster was founded to apply machine learning in a personalized and practical way. To answer specific questions and give unique solutions to the product and production problems. Karlinton believes that by through Red Rooster he can directly help the increase food safety and security in the world. In this way he works to supply solutions to people dependent on food access.
